How have you been handling the pandemic, so far? This difficult time has devastated many of us regardless of our status in life. Some of us have managed to keep our jobs and work from home. This, however, doesn’t mean that we are not affected by what is happening around us. Our mental health has been greatly affected, too.
Since I’m working from home, I’ve been feeling a little unproductive. I have my family which keeps me preoccupied but this time no waking up 3 or 4 hours before my shift, no long travels to and from the office under the scorching heat of the sun and the unforgiving traffic. I don’t even have to take a bath sometimes.
While I’m grateful for these things, I also suddenly have a lot of extra time and I just can’t seem to Netflix and chill. Every idle moment makes me anxious. So, I’ve been looking for ways to fill up my time. So far, I’ve done some home projects. I’ve created my freelancing profiles. I’ve applied for online jobs. I’ve enrolled in a freelancing course because I want to have a mentor through my freelancing journey. I got hired! Wow! Amazing! Little victories.
I’ve recently created my social media accounts as part of my freelancing journey and also to remind me of the things that I am blessed with. To never ever take them for granted. To always be thankful despite all the hardships and uncertainties. To realize that I’ve come far enough to know that I’m successful in my own little way.
